Thanksgiving 2013

I love Thanksgiving and it is always so fun for me to prepare Thanksgiving dinner! We had a very low key celebration at home this past year. We spent time together remembering all that we have been blessed with. It was great. Just us, our Bear boy, and our friend Bob. I made the same turkey I made last year and it was F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S! Here is the recipe! I also tried a homemade cranberry sauce (recipe) and it was so easy and super yummy (and I don't even like cranberry sauce)! One more new recipe I tried was for a gravy made with the drippings from the turkey, oh.my.goodness. I'm not kidding, you need to make it! I was surprised that it was so good! If you make this gravy, get the fat separator, it is really useful.
A simple table with stuff we already had!
I love the natural light we get in our home. Grateful for desert sunshine!

Thanksgiving 2013

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I just love it. I love taking a step back to really think of how blessed we are. This year we were not able to go see family for the holiday so we had a wonderful day with each other and a dear friend of ours. I love being able to prepare thanksgiving dinner and decorate or house a little for the festivities. We pretty much have our turkey down using a recipe we love from "Our Best Bites". If you are looking for the most delicious turkey recipe check it out!
Simple fall flowers including my favorite hydrangea!
Yum!
We also did the gravy from Our Best Bites and it's the best gravy I've ever had. That's not a joke.

My dude serving it up!

I'm most grateful for my two guys!

The Best Beef Sandwiches Ever

I'm not kidding you, these sandwiches are delicious. I only post about my food if I think you need to run and make it asap. I got the recipe from the lovely ladies over at Our Best Bites. I have yet to make on of their recipes I didn't love. This particular recipe has already been put on a card in my recipe holder. I followed their recipe with the exception of the sliced pepperoncinis, mine were whole. This recipe is not spicy either. I was worried about it because the mr. does not do spicy. He loved the sandwiches too.
The roast that has been salt and peppered goes in the crock pot after you brown all the sides
 Pour the peppers in
 The finished deal!
Go to Our Best Bites (full recipe on their website) right now and put these bad boys on your menu!
P.S. if you have leftovers make the baked chipotle beef taquitos they suggest, DIVINE! I thought I was at an authentic mexican restaurant, no joke.

Banana Muffins

My husband can't stand brown bananas. Weird, right?! A few weeks ago I had some that I wanted to use before they were tossed. I did the typical thing and searched pinterest for a recipe. I came across this recipe over at Life as a Lily. I tried them out and boy howdy were they delish. I made them again today  because I have been dreaming of them. Sadly, I didn't have enough bananas but lucky for me I have awesome neighbors who did! I had to tweak the recipe just a bit because both times I only had three bananas. I didn't do the topping the first time and they were still delicious.
