Europe 2013 Berlin, Germany

Berlin is such an amazing city. It is crazy full of history and yet is a modern and thriving place. For us it was the perfect mix of what we enjoy most when traveling. We only had a few days in Berlin and can't wait to go back!
Brandenburg Gate

My husband, the proud American, in front of the U.S. Embassy. We loved the embassy and its unique location.

A memorial in front of the Reichstag to those members of parliament killed in concentration camps
The Reichstag from the front, German Parliament
I love seeing flags of the countries we visit

Massive columns

I could have stayed and enjoyed the view all day long, the top of the Reichstag has a 360 degree view of the city. Perfection
The dome of the building is so unique and I loved the mirrors from the inside

The beautiful sky through the uncovered opening of the dome
Another view
Can you find us....
How about now...
Now...
This is the Memorial to Murdered Jews in Europe. It is massive and beautiful. This place is full of emotions and remembrance.

Here you can see the Reichstag with the dome in it too
Blurry picture taken by a fellow tourist!

A beautiful stroll through Tiergarten
Bullet holes from World War II can be seen throughout parts of the city. So weird

Have you seen the movie Valkyrie, with Tom Cruise? The above picture has von Stauffenberg on the left and Hilter. Von Stuaffenberg was a German army officer who lead a failed attempt to assassinate Hitler.
This was von Stuaffenberg's office, Bendlerblock
Our tour guide pointed out the floors....
A plaque at the German Resistance Memorial, where von Stauufenberg and others involved were executed
Marble from the Reichs Chancellery was used in the Ubahn (subway) station
This is the exact sight of Hitler's bunker where he committed suicide.

These buildings are from World War II and you can see the Nazi architecture

The Berlin Wall

Checkpoint Charlie is....cheesy and lame. We thought it would be more historical but it is just a guy in costume...

The row of stones here that make the line is where the wall stood

The East Side of The Berlin Wall is painted with different art

Can you see my potato inside the foil swan? Fancy!

Still enjoying my water from Prague, in Berlin!
Typical european breakfast for Nee Nee!

We love grabbing some picnic type food and eating while enjoying the places we visit. This time we were outside of the Berlin Hauptbahnhof, the greatest train station!
Love using public transportation in Europe!

Even in Germany my babe eats like a child! Love him!
