Adoption Photo shoot (what?!?!)

We are SO THRILLED AT THE OPPORTUNITY TO ADOPT! We have been open with our fertility issues and it's no secret that these Lowry's want some babies! We have started the adoption process and part of what we (I use the term we loosely!) wanted to do for that was get some updated family pictures. Our sweet and talented friend Des (check her out here desired shots photography ) took our pictures for our adoption profile as a gift to us and our future baby, how sweet is she?! We are going through LDS Family Services and are just so so so so excited!!!!! As soon as our profile is "live" on the website and available for birth parents to see, we will let EVERYBODY know so you can help spread the word! I think that every little bit helps in the adoption process. We will be making pass along cards, updating the blog, using social media a ton, and praying for our future baby and their birth parents.

Here are some (a ton) of our favorites! We took the pictures in our favorite spot in Utah up past Sundance Resort. 

East Coast 2013 Ford's Theater and The White House

We made a stop at The National Museum of American History, to learn more about The Star-Spangled Banner, the flag that inspired our wonderful National Anthem. It was so neat to see and I had never heard the story behind it. I really recommend heading over to the Smithsonian next time you're in D.C., plus, it's free! Check out the link about the permanent exhibition.

We then headed over to Ford's Theater to see the theater where Lincoln was shot and the house where he ultimately passed away. If you go, be aware you need to get tickets and the tour is self-guided. You can get an audio tour if you would like. They have a park ranger in the theater that will give a quick history of the place and event and they also answer questions. You have to wait in line for the theater and again for the house. The house where Lincoln died is right across the street from the theater. Make sure to plan enough time to see both, they close relatively early too.

We finished our day off at Fogo de Chao! So good but so much food!!!!

East Coast 2013 D.C. Monuments

The monuments at "The Mall" in D.C. never get old. Every time I've visited D.C. I check them out. We started the day off at Arlington National Cemetery. Make sure you catch the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier, always impressive. I'm grateful for the men and women who have and continue to serve this great country of ours.

Roosevelt Memorial Park is huge and really neat. This was my first time seeing it and I highly recommend it.
