Venice/ Rome

Day 8
Venice/Rome
This was our last day in Venezia. We had the whole morning and some of the afternoon to continue exploring before taking the train to Roma! We started off again with the awesome breakfast at our hotel and then went to the Scuola Grande di San Rocco. We had to follow the map, which is not easy in Venice, to the church. Getting there was half the fun! We saw such cute and charming buildings and people. I absolutely love italian culture and way of life, so relaxed! The Scuola was really cool and featured amazing work by the talented Tintoretto. After the tour Rob and I enjoyed sitting on the steps of a nearby church, listening to two men playing music in front of the Scuola! I felt like a typical Italian at that point! From there we decided to do a gondola ride! I love gondolas!!!!! We went through the little canals as well as the Grand Canal! This experience will never get old to me, I love it! When we finished our ride we headed back to the hotel, stopping at stores on the way, to get ready to go. We had a beautiful train ride from Venice to Rome. We played some games, slept, snacked and enjoyed the views of the beautiful Italian countryside. When we arrived in Rome we were so tired! We found our hotel and checked in. Our hotel recommended a nice place right by our hotel for dinner. We decided to go there because it was so close, but oh my heck, this place was YUMMY! We ended up eating there four times for dinner during our time in Rome!
