Beijing

This was a jam-packed, fun-filled day in Beijing! We started at the Capital Museum and it did not disappoint! We then went to a Pearl Factory and saw and learned about pearls. After the factory we ate a delish lunch and I of course ate too much! We then went to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, SO COOL!!!! This was one of my faves! When were done exploring that huge imperial palace we headed to eat again...so much food! It was a great day and we topped it off with an AMAZING kung fu show!

Haha, growing up in Hong Kong firecrackers were everywhere and they always scared her as a child!
This is a hacky sack sort of thing my Grandma played as a child and everyone in China still plays!!!

I had no idea the pearl came from inside the meat...

Venice of the East: Tongli

While in Shanghai we took a day trip to Tongli. It is know for its system of canals giving it the nickname of the "Venice of the East". It was really cool and still has a lot of the features from an ancient chinese town. This was one of the highlights for me!
One of the streets full of vendors
One of the bigger canals

I loved the little empty streets with one or two locals walking around!
You had to walk single file down this little alley
Like in Venice, I loved all the bridges, so great!

Traditional wedding event. They carry the bride across the bridge in this thing representing crossing over safely into a new chapter
